Punch published an article detailing Disu’s clandestine activities to locate 2Baba. He claimed that on December 31, 2023, police officers were in the middle of the forest when they saw 2Baba, while many others were in churches celebrating the start of a new year.
Disu disclosed that 2Baba managed to escape and fled deeper into the woods during the encounter, however, the police remained on his tail.
The joint security raid on February 19 culminated in 2Baba’s demise, showcasing the success of the strategic and persistent efforts carried out by the police force.
In Disu’s words: “On December 31, 2023 when people were in church waiting to say Happy New Year, we were in the forest and we had an encounter with 2Baba.
“He ran further into the forest before he went to the last place where he was. We didn’t shout about it. We kept on working on him; he had a lot of informants.
