She said that she never wished for her husband’s death and that it still felt as though he were alive since his body remained at the Yaba morgue.
She explained that he had not yet been buried and had undergone two separate autopsies—one conducted by the government and another privately arranged by her father-in-law.
“I don’t even want the death of my husband, it still feels like my husband is still alive because he’s in Yaba morgue. He has not been buried and he’s been pieces twice. They literally did two autopsies, the government autopsy and the private autopsy my father-in-law did.”
Omowunmi revealed that she had been waiting for the DNA test results and was instructed not to disclose them to the public once completed.
She stated that her father-in-law had accused her of being promiscuous and unfaithful, despite being the one who initially supported her marriage.
According to her, he was once the happiest about their union but later attempted to strip her of her rights as a woman.
She added that the situation became so overwhelming that she struggled to sleep and even had to stop brëastfeeding her baby. She also claimed that her father-in-law was seeking control over her late husband’s properties.
“I made it known that I have been waiting for the DNA, they said once the DNA is done I shouldn’t tell the public the result of the DNA. He has called me a promiscuous woman, he has called me a cheating wife. He was even the one that initiated that marriage right.”
“He was the happiest, he has tried to take my right away from me as a woman. I could not even sleep, like I had to stop brëastfeeding my baby. My father-in-law wanted to be in control of my husband’s properties.”
When Chude asked her about Naira Marley, Omowunmi responded by stating that, regardless of whether the world believed her, he knew deep down that he had maltreated her husband.
She added that the situation had reached a point where she either had to speak up or remain silent and suffer in isolation.
“One thing I would tell him is that, even if the whole world does not believe what I’ve been saying, you know deep down that you maltreated my husband. It has really got into a point that, it’s either I speak up or I die in silence.”CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
