The All Progressives Congress (APC) allegedly spent more than ₦35 billion to sway voters in the most recent Ogun State gubernatorial election, according to Olaniyi Ogungbuji, the Collation Agent for the Ondo State PDP. According to *Daily Trust*, Ogungbuji criticized the election process, claiming it was marred by voter inducement. He stated, “If this is the future of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, then we are doomed.” He also disclosed plans to report the developments to PDP leadership and gubernatorial candidate Eyitayo Jegede, promising that the party would decide on the appropriate steps to take in response.

Ogungbuji further highlighted irregularities in the Ondo State governorship election, claiming that voting did not occur at certain polling units in Idanre Local Government Area. However, these concerns were dismissed at the collation center, where the election results were finalized.

Reacting to the allegations, the APC’s Ondo State Collation Agent denied the claims of voter inducement, challenging the PDP to provide credible evidence. He argued that without verifiable proof, accusations of vote-buying could not be taken seriously. He added that if such evidence existed, it should have been presented to security agencies for action.

The APC representative dismissed the PDP’s complaints as excuses for losing the election, emphasizing the importance of substantiating allegations with facts.
