Ola Olukoyede, They Saw So Many Accounts That I Was Signatory To But It Was Redeemed Church Account

 

Ola Olukoyede, the chairman of the Economic Financial Crime Commission, has described his investigation experience, wherein the authorities first thought they had evidence that implicated him. He stressed the importance of maintaining clean hands in public office, asserting that integrity is crucial during challenging times. He noted that upon his assumption of office, people were wary of him not ending up as his predecessors. He confidently declared that his tenure would be different, publicly challenging anyone to prove they had given him money.

He said in a live coverage by Channels TV, ”When I was being investigated, there was a time they thought they had me. They saw so many accounts that I was signatory to but they discovered it was Redeemed Church account. I said the curse that Baba Adeboye will put on you if you touch his church money. What I’m trying to say is that let our hands be clean and let our heart be pure, that is the only thing that can help you in time of trouble.

Upon my assumption of office, people were saying they are praying for me. I said don’t pray for me, pray for yourself and pray for Nigeria. I asked them that why are you praying for me, they said we just looked at how your predecessors came and left office. I said they were the ones that did what they did and left like that, my story is going to be different from that. And I say it publicly, I challenge anyone that has given me a dime to come out and say it. The difference between our country and other countries where things work is integrity.
