The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has urged Nigerian media to look into the accusations against him in-depth, saying that the claims are baseless, in a recent video on Channels Television. “All these things are online, is it not? When you look at Page 18, all these things are online,” Kanu said, referring to the available legal documents and evidence. “So, I suggest that the journalists in this country actually take out time to do some basic research. It’s not difficult, just minor research. You will understand the vacuousness—the emptiness—of all the charges against me.”

Kanu highlighted inconsistencies in the charges filed against him, pointing out how the prosecution frequently modified the allegations. “They kept switching the charges. They said I committed this crime in England, isn’t it? Yes, I made a broadcast in England,” he remarked. The IPOB leader explained that nine charges had been leveled against him, with London, United Kingdom, being identified as the location where the alleged crimes occurred.
