Murtala Ajaka: “The Attack Was Coordinated By The Kogi Commissioner For Solid Mineral Bashir Gegu”

Murtala Ajaka:

Murtala Ajaka, the SDP’s nominee for Kogi State governor in 2023, asserted that the attack on him on Friday was planned by Bashir Gegu, the Kogi Commissioner for Solid Minerals. According to him, Bashir Gegu was the one who organized the attack and convinced young lads to lead the mob.He claimed that the people who dispatched the mobs had misled them into believing that their case had been rejected by the Supreme Court. He voiced worry that democracy might be threatened if such violence is permitted to go on. He also voiced his disapproval of the Supreme Court’s ruling that Usman Ododo should have been declared the legitimate victor of the Kogi State 2023 election.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

He said in an interview with Arise TV, ”Kogi state politics since 2016 when the former Governor took over, it has always been violence upon violence. But the Friday attack was coordinated by the Kogi Commissioner for solid mineral Bashir Gegu. The Supreme Court can review their CCTV camera, he (Bashir Gegu) came to the Court and shared money to the young boys there and I have evidence to support this my claim.

I’m not perturbed in anyway by the action of the mob but my fear is that if we allow this to continue be as a state, then there is no need for democracy. The mobs were ill-informed by those that sent them to come and carry out that action. They thought they had lost the case at the Supreme Court. Although we believed we were going to win because we had our points clear in Court and we were looking for victory but the Nigerian system failed us. But we are not against them because they are the Supreme Court, the apex Court in the country.”CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
