The mother of a girl who was abducted by bandits from Kuriga’s LEA Primary and Junior Secondary School in Kaduna State’s Chikun Local Government Area bemoaned the fact that her daughter was ill on the day of the kidnapping. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

The distressed mother reportedly told Vanguard that her daughter wasn’t feeling well and that she had just made it to school and breakfast that morning. She bemoaned her current situation in the jungle with the bandits.

She said, “My daughter was ill, she managed to eat her breakfast and went to school, now she’s in the bush with bandits.”

On Thursday morning, armed bandits had stormed the Kaduna school and kidnapped over 200 students, an incident that sparked an outrage among Nigerians on social media.

One of the teachers in the school who was lucky to escape from the hands of the bandits with some other victims said that a total of 287 students were kidnapped by the bandits from the secondary and primary sections of the school.

Following the attack, the Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani had paid a visit to the affected community, where he assured the people that the government would do everything to ensure that every child returns home safely.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had also reacted to the sad incident. In the statement which was issued through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, the President urged the security operatives to ensure the safe return of the students and ensure that justice is served to the perpetrators.
