Monday Ubani stated. "Why Is The Governor Afraid Of Re-presenting The Budget, They Cannot Stop The Budget

Concerns have been expressed by Monday Ubani, a former vice president of the Nigeria Bar Association, regarding Governor Sim Fubara’s refusal to resubmit the 2024 budget to the Rivers State House of Assembly. He maintained that the parliamentarians had no power to halt the budget’s passage. He speculated that the governor’s hesitation might be caused by ego issues and worries about the advisors’ impact. He asked everyone to put aside their egos and prioritize the needs of Rivers State’s most vulnerable citizens. He said in an interview with Channels TV, ”The point is that was there any agreement that this particular budget should be re-presented to the house? And if there is an agreement. Why is the governor afraid of re-presenting the budget, they cannot stop the budget. I think there is the issue of ego and his advisers trying to come in between them.

They should bury their ego and differences and look at the helpless people of Rivers State who are learning for good governance. This lingering crisis is unnecessary and I’m sure the President must be disappointed. Because he thought he had resolved the issue for them. But we are still going back and forth on the matter.”

The Rivers State Governor, Sir Sim Fubara had warned that he would surprise those who consider his honest decision to implement the Presidential peace pact as a sign of weakness.

Fubara said he had been inundated with several comments in the media about the implementation of the peace initiative and had chosen to be silent out of maturity and wisdom.
