The statement was made by the former Anambra state governor in a post published on his official X account on Sunday.
He claimed to have visited and given to one of The Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent De Paul’s centers in the post he uploaded on his page. According to Peter Obi, the organization is well renowned for housing and tending to the needs of society’s most disadvantaged youngsters.
He wrote on his page;
“In continuation of my visits to institutions whose roles are critical to the poor and less privileged in our society, yesterday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, I visited the Daughters of Charity of St Vincent De Paul. I was at one of their centres, De Marillac Centre for Street Children, in Diobu, Port Harcourt, where they keep and care for vulnerable children of society and I supported them with a modest donation of N5 million”.
