The fact that some soldiers were killed on Thursday while starting a peacekeeping operation is no longer news.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has since responded to the issue, though. He commanded the Chief of Defence Staff and Defence Headquarters to prosecute all of the offenders in a post he made on his official X account on Sunday.
Bashir Ahmad has now quoted the president as saying;
“The Defence Headquarters and Chief of Defence Staff have been granted full authority to bring to justice anybody found to have been responsible for this unconscionable crime against the Nigerian people”.
