Mixed Reactions After Obi Stated There Should Be Adequate Welfare Packages For Those Who Die In Service

Peter Gregory Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate in 2023 and a former governor of Anambra state, has responded to the deaths of a number of military soldiers in Delta state. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

PREMIUM TIMES reports that on Thursday, sixteen troops lost their lives while starting a peacekeeping operation in Delta State.

But after the occurrence, a lot of Nigerians have expressed their opinions. The former Anambra state governor stated on his Facebook that sufficient welfare benefits have to be provided for individuals who pass away while serving in the military in a post uploaded on Sunday.

Peter Obi said that everyone should always show love by commiserating and also visiting people who lost their loved ones in active service.

Peter Obi wrote on his page;

“There should be adequate compensation and welfare packages for the families of those who die in active service. All of us should always show our love by commiserating with their families and even visiting them in such difficult times. I sincerely condole with the families of the security personnel that died, and their security formations (Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police Force respectively) over the sad loss of their personnel”.
