Minimum Wage: FG Raises The Monthly Allowance To 77,000 Naira For Corps Members
The Nigerian Federal Government has authorized raising the monthly allowance of Corps members to 77,000 Naira, which would be effective July 2024.According to Channels Television, noted that before the new increase of the monthly allowance of the Corps members, it was previously 33,000 Naira.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

Before this increase, the monthly allowance for Corps Members in the country was ₦33,000.

The spokesperson for the National Youth Service Corps, Caroline Embu, allegedly said, in a statement on Wednesday, 25th of September, 2024, that the increment was in line with the enactment of the National Minimum Wage (Amendment) Act 2024.

Embu, in a letter from the National Salaries, incomes and Wages Commission, dated September 25, 2024, and signed by the Chairman, Ekpo Nta, allegedly said, “Prior to this, the Director General, NYSC, Brigadier General YD Ahmed, had paid an advocacy visit to the Chairman in which he solicited for a robust welfare package for Corps members.”

The mouthpiece of the Scheme also made it known that its boss is thankful to the Federal Government for the timely feature, and is optimistic that it will not only bring much needed succour to the Corps Members, but also boost their morale, and motivate them to do even more, in their service to the Nation.”.

The report recalled that, in late July, President Bola Tinubu signed the minimum wage bill into law, thereby, ending months of deliberations between government authorities, labour unions and the private sector.

The President of the country was said to have signed the bill at the State House in Abuja few days after the National Assembly had passed the Minimum Wage Act, 2019, to increase the National Minimum Wage from 30,000 to 70,000.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
