With a focus on the vital role that the third branch of government plays in bringing development closer to the people, the Zamfara State Government has stated its determination to abide by the Supreme Court’s ruling regarding the autonomy of local governments. During the opening ceremony of the workshop for the management staff, electoral officers, and assistant electoral officers of the Zamfara State Independent Electoral Commission, or ZASIEC, on Tuesday in Gusau, Secretary to the State Government, or SSG, Malam Abubakar Mohammed Nakwada made this statement. SSG Governor Dauda Lawal is dedicated to advancing democratic ideals and upholding the rule of law; the commission is tasked with ensuring free, fair, and credible elections. The SSG spoke through Dr. Lawal Hussein, Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Affairs.
