Punch reports that on August 2, a Kwara State High Court in Ilorin would render a decision in the well-known trial of six individuals charged with taking part in the 2018 Offa bank heist. The violent incident that took place in Offa, Kwara State on April 5, 2018, claimed the lives of 33 people, including nine police officers. The trial, which began in November 2018, has spanned six years, with the prosecution and defense counsel presenting their final arguments. The court is now prepared to render its verdict.

The defendants include a former policeman, Michael Adikwu (now deceased), Ayoade Akinnibosun, Azeez Salahudeen, Niyi Ogundiran, Ibikunle Ogunleye, and Adeola Abraham. They have pleaded not guilty to the charges.
