Lawrence Olawale: I Saw Them Reversing The Car, They Warned That If I Came Close, They Would Shoot Me

 

A guy known as Lawrence Olawale, the manager of Navo Pharmacy in the Oko Oba, Orile Agege area, on Ogundele Street, reported that he seen the gunmen turning his boss’s car and that they threatened to shoot him if he approached. Olawale said he stepped back and screamed. People on the street were already aware, so they all started shouting thief. He said that when they noticed that the gunmen couldn’t drive out, they started moving close to them, but they could not get too close because of their weapons. He said people started throwing stones and bottles at them. Olawale mentioned that three of the gunmen escaped, while the fourth person was overpowered by the people in the area.

As reported by The Punch News on Wednesday, Lawrence Olawale said, “When I got close, I saw them reversing the car forcefully; they warned me that if I came close, they would shoot me. I just had to step back a little and scream, and people on the street were already aware, so everybody started shouting ‘Thief!’. Two of them had guns, and others held cutlasses. When the Acura car got stuck, we observed that they couldn’t drive it out, so people who were aware of the development were already closing in on the suspects, but we could not get so close to the armed men because of their weapons. But people began throwing stones and bottles at them.”

He continued, “Three of them eventually fled, while the fourth person who was monitoring the people’s movement was overpowered by the men in the area. All the money we made, they took; they took my boss’ three phones. They were going to drive him away; it was an attempted kidnapping.”CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
