During an interview on State Affairs with Edmund Obilo, which was published on YouTube on Monday, Togun stated that the Federal Government was responsible for the large number of Fulani herdsmen entering the southern region.
He made these claims within the first four minutes of the interview, emphasizing that the government played a role in the growing security challenges faced by the region.
He said, “There was a meeting in Kano; they said they were FUNAM (Fulani National Movement). In their communique that time, this is about 5-6 years ago, that Allah has given them the land of Nigeria as inheritance, and that they have told all their tribe in West Africa subregion and Central Africa to start coming to Nigeria, to come and takeover what Allah has given them as inheritance. And that when they are coming, they should come fully armed…that is the only language Nigeria understands; violence. It is in their communique.”
Further talking, he said during that time, people were shouting but nothing was done and when they started seeing them carrying rifles around, the government said they were using it to protect their cows.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
