Former President Muhammadu Buhari’s digital communication assistant, Bashir Ahmad, has vehemently denounced the senseless deaths of troops in Delta State, Nigeria. Ahmad expressed his disgust at the horrific incident in a tweet that he shared on Twitter, saying that there is no excuse for murdering the lives of soldiers who valiantly defend their country and its residents. “Killing soldiers is a grave transgression that should never occur. In whatever circumstances, there is no justification for taking their lives; they stand on the front lines to protect us and our way of life.”

“The terrorists responsible for the brutal killing/beheading of our soldiers in Delta are the same as those who killed numbers of soldiers in Niger last year, as well as those who have carried out deadly attacks many times against our troops in Borno over the past years. The Nigerian Army should respond promptly and decisively, to locate and deal with those terrorists in the manner they have treated your colleagues.”

Ahmad drew attention to the fact that the terrorists responsible for the recent attack in Delta are the same perpetrators behind previous attacks on soldiers in Niger and Borno states. He called on the Nigerian Army to respond promptly and decisively to locate and deal with these terrorists, urging them to take action in the same manner that the terrorists have treated their colleagues.
