In Gaza, Hamas strikes and kills a well-known Israeli colonel, recording victory in its war against Israel.

In the continuing war with Israel, Hamas has claimed a significant victory when it killed Colonel Ehsan Daqsa, a top Israeli officer, in northern Gaza. The 41-year-old colonel was killed on Sunday during fighting, according to a Reuters story, when an explosive device exploded beneath a tank. Another Israeli cop sustained injuries in the same incident. Israeli media agencies verified the attack, including Kan and Channel 12.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

While the fighting raged on, rescue teams in the northern Gaza city of Beit Lahiya searched through the rubble left by an Israeli airstrike. The strike, one of the deadliest in recent months, left 87 people dead or missing, according to the Palestinian health ministry. Israeli authorities confirmed that the airstrike was aimed at a Hamas target, although there was a dispute over an earlier death toll of 73 reported by the Hamas media office.

The conflict, which escalated following a Hamas-led attack on October 7 last year, in which 1,200 Israelis were killed and 250 taken hostage, continues to cause devastating casualties on both sides. Israel’s military response has resulted in the deaths of over 42,500 people in Gaza, with the majority of the territory’s 2.3 million residents displaced, according to Palestinian officials.

The violence has not been confined to Gaza alone. Over the past year, the conflict has spilled over into Lebanon, where officials estimate more than 2,400 deaths and the displacement of 1.2 million people. Northern Israel and the occupied Golan Heights have also seen casualties, with Israeli authorities reporting 59 deaths in these areas during the same period. The war shows no signs of abating as Israeli forces continue their efforts to root out Hamas fighters.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
