The Labour Party’s (LP) National Working Committee has urged the National Security Adviser (NSA) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to look into allegations of misappropriation of funds from the 2023 presidential campaign involving Aisha Yesufu, Pastor Itua Ighodalo, Peter Obi, the party’s nominee for president, and leaders of Afenifere. The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Abayomi Arabambi, made the call at a press conference in Abeokuta, Ogun State, expressing concern over recent comments by Yesufu defending herself against accusations of involvement in the alleged diversion of campaign funds.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

According to the report by PM News on Thursday, the LP alleged that Yesufu, along with Pastor Ighodalo and other accomplices, mismanaged and diverted over N12 billion and $15 million in donations intended for the Labour Party’s campaign.

Yesufu had reacted to the allegations in a viral video, challenging the LP’s National Chairman, Julius Abure, to account for the proceeds of the ‘Labour Party N1,000 Challenge’ campaign donations he has been raising since 2022.

Arabambi debunked Yesufu’s denials as attempts to cover up the alleged financial misconduct, accusing her and her associates of acting under Obi’s direction to defraud the party.

The LP also implicated Afenifere leaders, including Pa Ayo Adebanjo, Akin Osuntokun, and Sola Ebiseni, accusing them of retaining over N600 million in private accounts linked to Afenifere.

However, the National Coordinator of the Obedient Movement, Dr. Yunisa Tanko, described the allegations as baseless and false, stating that Aisha Yesufu provided an audited account of the presidential campaign fund, and no money is missing from the Labour Party’s accounts.

Tanko said, “The allegations are unfounded. I was present when Aisha Yesufu provided the audited account of the presidential campaign fund, and the truth is that no money is missing from the Labour Party’s accounts.”CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
