Tinubu made the statement at a recent event, sparking outrage among many Nigerians who are insensitive and indifferent to the plight of the majority of the country’s citizens, who are struggling to make ends meet.
Reacting to Tinubu’s statement, National Spokesperson for the LP, Obiora Ifor, said in an interview with Vanguard that the former Lagos State Governor is mocking Nigerians by claiming that others are also suffering from poverty. According to Ifor, Tinubu’s statement clearly shows that he is out of touch with the reality of life in Nigeria.
“I think this is mocking Nigerians. It’s an insult. He’s not talking to us; he’s talking to himself,” Ifor said. “If he believes other people are poor, he should tell us who they are.” Is it the elite? Is it the political class? We know they are not suffering from poverty. They are living in luxury and enjoying the fruits of our sweat.
He also accused Tinubu of being indifferent to the plight of Nigerians struggling to survive in a country where poverty and economic hardship are rife.
“Poverty is a national crisis in Nigeria, and we need someone who can tackle it head-on. But with Tinubu, we know we are getting more suffering, more hardship, and more poverty,” Ifor said.
However, it remains to be seen whether he will heed the calls and retract his remarks or continue to stand his ground and anger Nigerians.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
