In an effort to alleviate the ongoing hardship faced by Nigerians, the Federal Government has announced the donation of 20 trucks of rice to each of the 36 state governors and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

According to Channels Television, this initiative aims to provide relief to the most vulnerable populations amid rising inflation and economic challenges.

During a press briefing after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Monday, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring food security for Nigerians.

He stated, “The Tinubu administration is determined to make sure that Nigerians have food on their table.”

The minister acknowledged the widespread complaints about the hardship caused by rising prices and emphasized that the government is taking these concerns seriously.

In response, the FEC has instructed the Presidential Committee on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) to expedite measures to alleviate transportation costs and related challenges.

Minister Idris elaborated on the distribution plan, noting that each truck carries approximately 1,200 25kg bags of rice.

“This is part of the measures that the government is taking, in addition to many others, to ensure that the hardship being experienced by Nigerians is drastically ameliorated,” he said.

He further assured that this distribution is just the first step in a series of actions aimed at supporting state governments and local authorities to mitigate food shortages and reduce the burden on citizens.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
