Goodluck Jonathan: Why I called Siminalayi Fubara General of Rivers Politics

Governor Siminalayi Fubara has been hailed as the future “General” of Rivers politics by former President Goodluck Jonathan, who has voiced trust in him. Jonathan acknowledged the challenges Governor Fubara is facing, remarking that this is his first time holding such a prominent political position.

He assured Fubara that these struggles were part of the journey to becoming a political leader, stating, “Nobody becomes a General without fighting wars.”

According to Daily Post, he encouraged the governor to remain, committed, confident that with the support of the people, Fubara would overcome these difficulties with divine assistance.

 

 

Furthermore, Jonathan stressed the importance of maintaining peace in Rivers State, warning that any instability in the state could negatively affect the entire Niger Delta region and, by extension, the national economy.

He urged the governor to stay focused and calm in his leadership.

In response, Governor Fubara thanked Jonathan for his unwavering support during challenging times, acknowledging the former president’s guidance and encouragement throughout his administration.
