Speaking at a national conference on strengthening democracy in Abuja, he highlighted how the newly formed APC was able to unseat the then-ruling PDP.

Amaechi attributed APC’s victory to the party’s determination and thorough preparation, emphasizing that their readiness forced former President Goodluck Jonathan to concede defeat.

He urged Nigerians to adopt similar strategies in future elections to safeguard democracy.

The conference, organized by the African Centre for Leadership, Strategy, and Development, provided a platform for Amaechi to stress the importance of political vigilance.

He encouraged citizens to remain proactive in protecting their votes, particularly as the 2027 election approaches.

Reflecting on his own political journey, Amaechi recalled his bid for the APC presidential ticket in 2023, where he emerged second with 316 votes behind Bola Tinubu, who secured 1,271 votes.
