General Usman pointed out that during his trip from his home to the studio, he was able to notice the presence of 24 satellites in the air. He underscored the potential that such advanced technological infrastructure offers in terms of monitoring and tracking movements, especially when it comes to detecting criminal activities like kidnapping and banditry. According to him, with this level of surveillance capability, it would be possible to pinpoint individuals and their locations with a high degree of accuracy, significantly improving security efforts across the nation.
He further stressed the importance of international cooperation in addressing these issues, noting that despite having access to some of the necessary technologies, there are still gaps that need to be addressed through collaboration with other nations. “We need to cooperate internationally because there are certain things that we are lacking in this country so we have to cooperate to see how best we can utilize these tools effectively,” he stated.
In his words, General Usman stated, “We have to put our heads together, now technology is one of the key things. Before I even came to this place I checked, on my way from my house to this studio I realized there are over 24 satellites over me, so if there is anything they want to do with me, they can deal with me decisively. We need to cooperate internationally because there are certain things that we are lacking in this country so we have to cooperate to see how best (sic). I can assure you if it is a single individual, once he moves definitely he will be detected, talkless of a situation whereby these people that were abducted are more than 8.”
His comments are a call to action for Nigerian authorities to make better use of available technological resources to monitor and counteract criminal activities. Usman’s remarks also stress the need for urgent reform in Nigeria’s security apparatus to ensure that such criminal acts, especially kidnappings, are detected and prevented before they occur.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
