The Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams, has expressed his dismay at the skyrocketing cost of gasoline and its impact on the expense of transportation, especially for individuals who depend on more than one car. He criticized the notion of staying silent on the issue due to tribal affiliations, stressing the importance of addressing the high fuel costs. Adams argued that such issues must be confronted head-on, regardless of tribal ties.

His statement reflects the urgent need for a solution to alleviate the financial challenges caused by rising fuel prices.

In his words, “Now if you want to go to Ibadan with one vehicle like a jeep, going to Ibadan to and fro, you will spend nothing less than N250,000 to fuel your tank. That’s just on one vehicle, and people like me, I always travel with four or five vehicles.”

“Where would I get such money, and you want me to keep quiet because I am a Yoruba man? So you are telling me that going to Ibadan, just Ibadan here, which is about 120 or 140 km away, I would be spending about N1 million to buy fuel? If I go with six vehicles, that would be N1.5 million.”CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
