Fuel Hike:Sule Lamido, Dangote Is Not For Nigerian, The More Nigerians Suffer The More Money He Makes

In an interview with Daily Sun, former Jigawa State governor Sule Lamido expressed his opinions on the issue surrounding Aliko Dangote’s $20 billion refinery, casting doubt on the notion that the refinery will lessen the cost of fuel for Nigerians.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

Lamido argued that the promises of relief have not materialized and refrained from delving deeply into the ongoing debates involving Dangote and other prominent figures like President Bola Tinubu, Femi Otedola, and Godwin Emefiele, describing their disputes as a “civil war among moneybags” and expressed his unwillingness to be drawn into their conflicts.

According to Lamido, the issues facing Nigerians are not new and highlighted that Dangote and other influential figures have been part of Nigeria’s economic system for decades, including during past administrations like that of Muhammadu Buhari and referred to the power dynamics among these elites as a “mafia war,” suggesting that their battles primarily benefit themselves, while ordinary Nigerians continue to suffer.

Despite the refinery’s potential to improve fuel production, Lamido expressed doubt about its ability to bring meaningful change to ordinary Nigerians, implying that the system is structured to prioritize the profits of a select few over the welfare of the majority.

I mean that they have been there for a long time. I don’t want to get into their own controversy. It is their own civil war. What I am saying is this. Dangote is not for the other Nigerian. It is their own fight. I don’t want to be dragged into their fight. What ever is their differences, they belong together. Look, Dangote has been around for how long? Dangote has been around for a very long time. Under Buhari, Dangote was there, Tinubu was there. All the mafia bosses, in quote, they were there. This is a mafia war. Why should I be entangled in it? The more you suffer, the more money they make. When elephants are fighting, they say, it is the grass that suffers. But then we, the grasses, are innocent. We are very innocent. We should not be the victims of these mafia fight?” he said.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
