With 46 years of experience in law, Okocha is no stranger to the intricacies of the legal system and has held numerous prestigious positions throughout his career. He has served as the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice in Rivers State, as well as holding influential roles such as the Chairman of the Council of Legal Education and the Body of Benchers.
In response to the governor’s comments, Okocha emphasized his credentials and achievements, asserting his status as an authentic legal luminary. He pointed out that he was elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria in 1995 and became President of the Nigerian Bar Association in 2000, well after his service as Attorney General. Okocha’s dedication to the legal field has been evident throughout his career, and he believes his contributions should not be dismissed lightly.
During a live coverage by TVC, Okocha expressed disappointment over the governor’s casual dismissal of legal professionals, particularly in a context where no names were mentioned. He felt it was unfair to categorize experienced legal practitioners without providing clarity on who the governor was addressing.
