Food Inflation Going Down, As Prices Of Tomatoes And Potatoes Nosedive – According to Presidency

 

The administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has asserted that the nation’s food inflation is progressively declining, pointing out that the cost of potatoes and tomatoes has decreased significantly.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

Speaking further, Presidency noted that the price of fresh tomatoes plummeted from ₦18,000 to ₦6,000 per basket, while the price of Irish potatoes reduced aswell, from ₦180,000 per bag to ₦45,000 per 65kg bag.

Presidency made this disclosure in a post he was made by the Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga on his official X handle on Friday morning.

He wrote: “Food inflation going down as prices of tomatoes, and potatoes nosedive.

“First, the price of tomatoes plummeted from N18,000 to N6,000 per basket. The price of Irish potatoes has now followed, reducing from the Olympian height of N180,000 to N45,000 per 65-kg bag. According to reports, the price decline began from N150,000 to N120,000. It then fell again to N100,000 and later to N80,000. It is now N45,000.”CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
