Idris stated that the President will meet with organized labour on Thursday to finalize the proposed amount for submission to the National Assembly.

He also mentioned that the Federal Executive Council has extensively discussed the matter and plans to convene a meeting with labour representatives later this week.

“The President is scheduled to meet with organized labor on Thursday to finalize the proposed amount that will be submitted to the National Assembly.”

“The President is not opposed to increasing the national minimum wage but is exercising caution to avoid triggering unforeseen inflationary pressures,” Minister Idris stated.

According to Idris, while the President is not opposed to increasing the national minimum wage, he is cautious about potential consequences.
