Under the new pricing scheme, all band B-E consumers have been instructed by the federal government to report any instances in which they are overcharged. This news was issued on Sunday via Presidency Nigeria’s official X handle. This follows the Federal Government’s recent announcement of an increase in the price of electricity. According to VANGUARD, the Federal Government approved the increase on electricity tariff from an initial N68 per kilowatt to N225 per kilowatt.

In a post titled “The Revised Electricity Tariff: What You Should Do”, the Federal Government said customers that are band B-E should report immediately whenever they are overcharged for electricity tokens. The report further stated that the Federal Government is still subsidizing their electricity at the old rates.

The statement says;
