This declaration is the result of the nationwide demonstration that the nation has planned for later today. The Police Public Relations Officer stated that it is the right of every citizen to protest. She said protesters should carry the police along so that adequate security can be provided and also to prevent the protest from being hijacked by hoodlums.
She however, ended her statement by saying that the police will not condone the breakdown of law and order in the Federal Capital Territory.

“The FCT police command is not preventing any residents in the territory from protesting. It is your lawful right to protest but please carry us along so we can provide you with adequate protection and prevent the protest from being hijacked by those with inordinate motives.
