Fatima Musa, a former member of Boko Haram, stated in a video released by News Central TV that many of the group’s members carry out acts of terror because they are tricked into thinking that doing so will bring them to paradise. Fatima said she deeply regrets burning her certificates in front of her father and friends who had higher degrees. She asked for forgiveness from people and expressed her desire to return to school. She also said her goal is to become a teacher to help guide children who might be misled, just as she once was.
