“Every child growing up in Palestine will become another Yahya Sinwar,” according to Iran’s army chief.

 

The October 7 attack on Israel has greatly strengthened the “spirit of resistance” throughout the area, according to Iran’s Army Chief Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, who said on Wednesday that every Palestinian child will grow up to be a fighter like Sinwar. “The spirit of resistance has grown stronger, more widespread, and deeper,” Mousavi stated, referencing the aftermath of the unprecedented assault on Israel by Hamas. He further added, “Every child growing up in Palestine will become another Yahya Sinwar,” alluding to the former Hamas leader credited with orchestrating the attack.

The October 7 assault, which resulted in the deaths of over 1,200 Israelis and the capture of hostages, has drawn widespread international condemnation. However, Mousavi’s comments underline Iran’s continued support for resistance movements in Palestine, a stance that has long placed the country at odds with Israel and its allies.
