Head of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church Primate Elijah Ayodele denied allegations on Wednesday that he had predicted Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde will become Nigeria’s president. The prophet clarified that he never referred to the office of the president as the higher ground he meant, only emphasizing to Makinde that he should start consulting for a future in politics.
Primate Ayodele provided this clarification in a statement that was endorsed by Oluwatosin Osho, his media assistant.
According to the statement, “It has been brought to our attention that some highly respected news organizations are sharing reports that Primate Ayodele revealed in a prophecy that Governor Seyi Makinde will become the President of Nigeria.”
“This is not only disturbing but embarrassing and disappointing that some media organizations that should uphold the ethics of the journalism profession are getting themselves involved in tarnishing the image of the profession.”
“Primate Ayodele’s statement was advice to Seyi Makinde regarding the next chapter of his political career, and he called on him to begin 21 days of consultation to reach a higher ground in his career.”
Oluwatosin Osho stated that Primate Ayodele made it apparent in the video that was cited in these reports that Seyi Makinde was moving to higher ground, but he still needed to have sufficient consultation.
