According to Punch, this appeal came in response to Clark’s recent demands for the expulsion of Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike from the PDP.
Clark’s open letter criticized Wike for allegedly using his proximity to President Bola Tinubu to pressure Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and destabilize the state government.
Clark, who leads the Pan Niger Delta Forum, expressed frustration over what he views as Wike’s efforts to undermine the PDP and its members in Rivers State.
In his response during the inauguration of the PDP National Reconciliation and Disciplinary Committees in Abuja, Damagum advised Clark to reflect on his role as an elder statesman and to refrain from public disputes.
He urged Clark to focus on constructive dialogue rather than engaging in confrontational tactics.
The ongoing political rift between Wike and Fubara has severely affected governance in Rivers State, leading to a divided State House of Assembly.
