The Force PRO disclosed this on his X handle, saying following the alarm raised by the mother of the young man, the Inspector General of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun, intervened in the matter, which led to the arrest of the DPO and other officers.
According to the FPRO, the woman raised the alarm that her son, whose name was given simply as Erasmus, was allegedly tortured and killed at the Nyanya Police Station last year and since then, those she said were allegedly involved had been walking free.

However, while giving an update on the matter on Friday morning, Adejobi disclosed that after a thorough investigation, the DPO of the station and the officers who were on duty when the incident occurred had been arrested.
He wrote: “After thorough investigation, the alleged officers who were on duty the day the incident occurred have been arrested for interrogation, including the DPO. We stand for justice, and we will never compromise the ethics and SOP of the force, nor impede justice in any way. Justice must be served.”
Many citizens of the country have complained about the brutality, high-handedness and other forms of infractions committed by police officers across the country.
