According to Vanguard, Okupe, who has also served as a spokesperson for past Nigerian Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, shared his reflections on the state of Nigeria’s leadership and the conduct of the recent election.
In his comments, Okupe emphasized the readiness and qualifications of Nigeria’s current president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that no leader in Nigeria’s history has entered office more prepared than Tinubu.
According to Okupe, the current president has come into power with a superior sense of competence and experience, which positions him well to govern effectively.
Dismissing allegations of electoral fraud in the 2023 elections, Okupe highlighted the legitimacy of Tinubu’s victory.
He expressed confidence that the current administration has the potential to address the various challenges facing Nigeria, despite the difficult circumstances it faces.
Okupe acknowledged that Nigeria is grappling with a range of complex socio-economic issues, which he noted could significantly hinder the government’s ability to implement its plans and policies effectively.
These difficulties, according to Okupe, present a substantial challenge for any administration, making governance a particularly tough endeavor.
Okupe said, “I have worked with two past presidents. I have studied other presidents closely from a very close point. I do not know any Nigerian president from 1960 to date who has come more armed and better prepared for governance than this gentleman (Tinubu).
