Doyin Okupe: I Can’t Support Peter Obi Again, Our Agreement Was That A Southern President Must Emerge

Recently, Okupe expressed that those who criticize him for endorsing President Bola Tinubu’s economic recovery plan are lacking in understanding. This statement was made during his appearance on Channels  Television‘s ‘Politics Today’ on Monday.

Before the 2023 general elections, Okupe was aligned with Peter Obi, the former Governor of Anambra State.

According to Daily Post, he stated, “I cannot support Peter Obi again. The reason is that we had an agreement that a Southern President must be elected. Baba Adebanjo reached out to me, asking from which zone this Southern President should emerge, and I responded that it should be from the South East. We rallied support for that cause. Many distinguished Yoruba leaders backed you, so why now publicly undermine us? That is unacceptable.”CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
