Dele Momodu: “I’m Embarrassed A Fighter For Democracy Is Saying Nigerians Won’t Be Allowed To Protests”

 

One of the leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the creator of Ovation Magazine, Dele Momodu, has issued a warning to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the August 1 countrywide rallies. Dele Momodu announced on his official X Twitter on Friday that he will be writing to the President for the second time in two weeks.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

Dele Momodu said he is sad and embarrassed that Bola Ahmed Tinubu who was among those who fought for democracy is now saying that people should not protest. He said even under the military regime, they enjoyed the freedom to congregate and demonstrate.

He however, advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Ignore the advice of the hawks in his team. He said those people have nothing to lose since they are mostly beneficiaries of what others died for.

“I’m sad and embarrassed that a fighter for democracy is now saying Nigerians will not be allowed to congregate and demonstrate on the streets. Something you and I enjoyed during the military regimes, at home and abroad. I will never support anarchy, after engaging in peace initiatives in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Gambia. But I’m reasonably assured that any potential threat can be contained and nipped in the bud, since our secret service claims to have discovered the sponsors of mayhem.
