Farotimi expressed his views and strongly opposed the idea of Obi aligning with Atiku, calling it a move he could never support, explaining his stance with a metaphorical reference.
“I can never be persuaded to see Atiku as a likely solution to the problems of Nigeria, and the day Obi would realign with him, will mark the end of my political association with him. I will not drink laxatives because of thirst, and decapitation is not a cure for headaches,” Farotimi wrote.
Farotimi’s comment comes amid growing speculations about possible collaborations between opposition figures to challenge the ruling party in 2027.
Many political analysts argue that a united front could increase their chances of success.
Peter Obi, who ran for president under the Labour Party in the 2023 election, has not commented publicly on any potential alliances.
