According to Pastor Ibiyeomie, two armed police officers showed up at the church a few years ago with orders to tear it down. Despite being heavily armed, the pastor confronted them, refused to back down, and declared boldly: “Cross this line if I am a man of God. God does not own this church if you do not die.
“What nonsense!” the police officers said, dismissing his statements. Go beyond the bounds. They did, and the next morning, according to Pastor Ibiyeomie, they both passed away. He reiterated that he was unaware that they were discussing the church, but he stood by his statement. Pastor Ibiyeomie continued by describing how he heard about the event from people in Port Harcourt who were talking about the Abuja church.
In reference to the fatal event, he described how people told others, “Anything about that church, boy, don’t go there.” By saying, “If I be a son/daughter of God, let the same fire come down now,” the pastor urged his congregation to maintain their faith.
