Politician and attorney Daniel Bwala responded to remarks made by Peter Gregory Obi, the former governor of Anambra state, claiming that the executive branch had decided that only N1.2 trillion, not N3 trillion, had been allocated to the national budget. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
The declaration was made by Peter Obi in a post that he uploaded on his official X account on Wednesday. After Abdul Ningi, the senator representing the Bauchi Central Senatorial District, was suspended by the Nigerian Senate, he made the statement.
It is no longer news that the Senate suspended the Senator after he claimed that the sum of N3.7 trillion was padded into the national budget. In a post that Peter Obi shared on his page, he said now that the executive has agreed that N1.2 trillion was padded, the money should be channeled into any critical area of development.
Peter Obi wrote on his page;
“Now that the executive arm has accepted that the padded amount is only N1.2 trillion, it is still a very significant amount, when you consider that it is almost 5 times the N251.47 billion proposed for Universal Basic Education, which is the foundation of education. The N1.2 trillion which the executive branch admitted to have been padded, if channeled into any of the critical areas of development, could have positively impacted the nation and uplifted the people”.
However, Daniel Bwala has now reacted to the statement that was made by the former governor of Anambra state. In a post that he shared on his page, he said none of the Labour Party, LP, lawmakers has addressed or talked about Obi’s suggestions.
Daniel Bwala wrote;
