Bode George: Olusegun Obasanjo was in prison, he wasn’t part of G-14 G-18 or G-32 but who benefited?

 

One of the founding leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Alex Ekwueme, has been discussed by Bode George, a former military governor of Ondo State. He said that by bringing together influential politicians like Chief Bola Ige, Jim Nwobodo, Solomon Lar, and Abubakar Rimi to talk about Nigeria’s future, Ekwueme was instrumental in the formation of the PDP.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

In an interview with Arise TV, George said during this time, Olusegun Obasanjo was in prison and was not involved in the early stages of the party’s formation, known as the G-14, G-18, or G-32 groups. He said despite Obasanjo’s absence, he eventually became the party’s presidential candidate in the 1999 elections.

George said Ekwueme himself ran for the PDP presidential ticket but lost. He said despite his defeat, he remained loyal to the party without causing any trouble and continued to be an active member until his death.

In George’s words: “Even at that time Obasanjo was in prison, he was not part of G-14, G-18 or G-32 but who benefitted?
