Bitrus Pogu: In Gombe, they went to where somebody was selling vehicles, they burned all the vehicles

In an interview with The Nigerian Tribune, Dr. Bitrus Pogu, the National President of the Middle Belt Forum (MBF) and a prominent member of the group known as “The Patriots,” discussed the effects of the recent protest against hunger in the nation as well as the threat of kidnapping in the Northern region.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

When he was told during the interview that the recent protest over hardship in Nigeria turned violent in the Northern region, Bitrus Pogu while reacting to this ugly incident said that one of the leaders in the Northern region said the country needed to revisit the amalgamation, and let the components of Nigeria go their separate ways.

Pogu alleged the violence in the Northern region during the protest was uncalled for, because the protest was against hunger.

He said, “But even people who had nothing to do with government, like in Gombe, they went to where somebody was selling  vehicles and they burned all the vehicles. What business did he have with the government ?”

Further talking, he said, “In some states, the protest was directed more at the governors than the Federal Government. But all the same, the protest in the North took a different dimension. Maybe there were people behind it who wanted to pull the government down.”CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
