Bishop Kukah's Claims That Tinubu Didn't Sign Peace Accords in 2023, Bayo Onanuga Reacts

President Tinubu’s special advisor, Bayo Onanuga, has provided clarification on recent remarks made by Bishop Matthew Kukah about peace deals. “Bishop Kukah is not correct; Tinubu signed peace accords in 2023,” Onanuga stated on his verified X page.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

He said that President Tinubu signed two significant peace agreements prior to the 2023 election, in contrast to Bishop Kukah’s assertions. Signing day for the first agreement was September 29, 2022. Vice President Kashim Shettima signed on behalf of Tinubu, and it stipulated that all candidates must pledge to hold free and fair elections in Nigeria.

According to Onanuga, the second agreement was signed on February 23, 2023, and focused on the candidates’ acceptance of the election results.

He emphasized that these accords reflect President Tinubu’s dedication to ensuring fair elections in Nigeria.

On his Verified X page Bayo Onanuga tweeted,

He said, “Bishop Kukah is not correct; Tinubu signed peace accords in 2023. Contrary to the claims by Bishop Kukah, President Tinubu signed the two peace accords preceding his election in 2023. The first accord, committing the candidates to a free and credible election in the country, was signed on September 29, 2022. Vice President Kashim Shettima represented Tinubu.
