Bello Matawalle:”I Got Just N1.9Bn From The FG While My Salary Was About N2.3Bn”

 

Bello Matawalle, the minister of defense, has claimed that while he was governor, he was paid an incredible 2.3 billion naira, although he only received a modest 1.9 billion naira in allocations from the federal government. He recalled that there were times when the state received only an additional sum and it was a rare occurrence. He challenged Governor Lawal’s claims of unaccounted funds, stating that during his four-year tenure, he never received up to 150 or 240 billion naira in total allocations.

He said in an interview with Channels TV, ”Before he (Dauda Lawal) said there is an unaccounted 70 billion now but now he is saying 250 billion naira. But it is not a surprise to me, if you know who is Dauda, you will not he surprised. There was a time that the allocation for government to the state government was nothing. I got just N1.9M billion from the FG while my salary was about N2.3Bn. It was only two times that I got about 6 billion naira for both state and local government allocation.

So for the period of my 4 years, I didn’t get up to 150 or 240 billion in all the Allocations. But go ask today, there is a time Zamfara state government alone got 28 billion per month.
