In the final moments of the match in Kigali on Wednesday, Nwabali went down on two occasions, which frustrated his fellow players, particularly during the second incident. This led to inquiries directed at head coach Austine Eguavoen during the post-match press conference, where he acknowledged the need to address the situation with Nwabali. The Super Eagles concluded their initial series of games with a record of one win and one draw, accumulating four points from a possible six.

Eguavoen acknowledged that he will discuss the issue with the 28-year-old goalkeeper to ensure it does not happen again in future matches. Notably, at his club, Chippa United in South Africa, Nwabali had received six cautions for time-wasting.

“I don’t encourage such, it’s something we have to talk about and we all know he’s one of the best goalkeepers in Africa right now. It’s not a game plan. I told you before, we have come here to get three points so delaying such balls is not the best.”CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
