Mrs. Priscilla Otti, the First Lady of Abia State, has voiced her dismay and outrage over a horrific incident involving a woman in Umuahia whose husband gouged out her eyes. The landlady, Madam Lovejane Nwaiwu, who witnessed the incident, reported that the husband had been shouting “Odogwu, Odogwu” (mighty, mighty) earlier in the night. She attempted to intervene but was also attacked by the husband, who cut her hand and mouth.
Mrs. Otti visited the victims at the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia, where they are receiving treatment. She donated cash for their treatment and upkeep and assured that she would take immediate action to ensure the victim’s safety and protection.
