Knowledge PDP member and political affairs expert Chapp Jumbo has discussed the internal party political turmoil in Rivers State. The battle for control of the PDP’s structure in the state is centered on former governor Nyesom Wike and current governor Siminalayi Fubara. In a live coverage by TV360 Nigeria, Jumbo alleged that Governor Fubara directed his supporters, who are interested in contesting the upcoming local government elections, to join the Action Peoples Party (APP) in Rivers State. He said these candidates have already undergone screenings. He asked what the PDP governors are truly fighting for if Fubara is already guiding his loyalists toward another party
In Jumbo’s words: “Are you aware that Fubara has partially moved to the APP because he told all his people that are interested to contest in the local government election to move to APP in Rivers State to contest. They have done the screening for the chairmen. So who are they (PDP governors) fighting for in Rivers State for the structure of the PDP?
