In a statement, Gallant referred to Ramadan as “a month of jihad” and stated that Israel is aware of the potential for an upsurge in attacks and bloodshed during the holy month.
“We tell everyone who is thinking of trying us – we are ready, don’t make mistakes,” he said.
According to a report by Times Of Israel, He also expressed respect for the religious significance of Ramadan, which commemorates the revelation of the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad.
“The month of Ramadan is an important month in which the Quran was revealed and in which there is an opportunity to improve neighborly relations and strengthen family ties,” he said.
Gallant also affirmed Israel’s policy of safeguarding freedom of worship for all faiths, especially at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and other holy sites in Jerusalem.
